Connells Maple Lee Flowers name-the-arrangement online contest runs through Sept. 18


In fairy tales, pumpkins turn into horse-drawn carriages.
At Connells Maple Lee Flowers & Gifts, one lucky person will turn a pumpkin into a prize simply by entering this year’s name-the-arrangement contest.
The person who submits the winning name will receive a complimentary mounded pumpkin arrangement, retail value $44.99.
The all-around arrangement measures 12.5 inches high and 16 inches wide. It features a six-inch white ceramic pumpkin, country buffalo gingham bow, dusty miller, mini-green hydrangea, carnations, spray roses, charmelia, poms and limonium.

Connells Maple Lee Kids Club seeking birthday card entries through July 15


They say that it’s better to give than to receive.
But you could do both if you win this year’s Connells Maple Lee Kids Club birthday card design contest.
The winning design will adorn the email birthday card that every kids club member receives on his or her special day. The winning artist will receive a free flower delivery on his or her birthday.
The contest is open to kids club members, ages 5 to 12. If you aren’t a kids club member yet, you can register for free at cmlflowers.com/kidsclub.
To enter the contest, simply download the entry form here, create your design and drop it off at your nearest Connells Maple Lee store: 3014 E. Broad St., Bexley; 2033 Stringtown Road, Grove City; and 8573 Owenfield Drive, Powell.
The winner will be chosen in late July.

Blacklick third-grader wins Connells Maple Lee Kids Club birthday card design contest

That creativity no doubt contributed to Logan winning this year’s Connells Maple Lee Flowers & Gifts Kids Club birthday card design contest.
Logan’s aquatic design will be featured on the electronic card that kids club members will receive on their birthdays in the coming year. His prize is a free flower delivery on his next birthday.

We need your help naming this arrangement; enter our contest by Aug. 15


It has a number, but arrangement 3771 also needs a name.
That’s why we’re asking for help by seeking submissions to our name-the-arrangement online contest through Aug. 15.
The all-around arrangement comprises three roses, stock, hydrangea, mini hydrangea, a lily, cushion poms, button poms, bupleurum, caspia, and curly willow accents swirled in a nine-inch glass bowl.
The person who submits the winning name will receive this arrangement (retail value $69.99) as a prize.

The deadline for submissions is July 15. The winning design will grace the official e-card that all kids club members will receive in the coming year. (Here’s how to become a member.)
One way to enter the contest is to attend the June 29 kids club event, where everyone who participates also will have an opportunity to make a sundae out of carnations. Time slots are available at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Registration is required by contacting your nearest store.
The other way to enter the contest is by downloading the entry form and dropping it off at your nearest store.

“I just wanted to see if I could draw, really,” Danica said.

In fact, he’s now an award-winning artist. His drawing of flowers is the winning entry in the 2016 edition of Connells Maple Lee Kids Club birthday card design contest.
His design will be featured on the electronic card that Connells Maple Lee Kids Club members will receive on their birthdays in the coming year. Caden’s prize is a free flower delivery on his next birthday.
Caden lives in Westerville with his mother and father, Jon Shen. He will be a first-grader at Annehurst Elementary School.

‘Fire and Ice’ chosen as winning entry in Connells Maple Lee name-the-arrangement contest

“Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice,” wrote the poet Robert Frost.
Connells Maple Lee’s name-the-arrangement contest ended in “Fire and Ice.”
That is the winning name, submitted in separate entries by Rita Beck of Columbus and by Linda Sivinski of Powell. Each of them will receive one of the arrangements after it debuts on Dec. 5.
The arrangement, which will be offered year-round, comes in a clear glass cube. It features three types of greens; red flowers comprising one-dozen roses, alstroemeria and hypericum; and white flowers comprising hydrangea, veronica and stock.
The contest generated 71 entries in all.
